Problem with PIC_ROOT

Previous Entry Problem with PIC_ROOT Oct. 18th, 2002 @ 09:27 am Next Entry
I recently put Fotobilder on my main server and I'm having a bit of an issue getting it working. It installs and runs just fine, but I cannot upload pics or see my galleries in the Manage Galleries screen.

Right away, I noticed that my pic_root directory doesn't exist, so I created it, but it still isn't working. Even with new users. Nothing is showing up in the Apache logs. When I do the webupload, I get a "
Server Error: Failed to find/create spool directory.".

What permissions should I have for picroot? I've tried having as the fb user and the web server's user. No luck. Weird thing is I had gotten it working on my old development quick and easy... this one is a pain.

The directory must be accessible and writable by whatever user your web server is running as, as it will create directories and files under that directory.

You might wish to try becoming your web server user temporarily (su - www or similar) and seeing if you can create files and directories under the picroot. If you can, then something else is wrong.

Yeah, that was the issue. The webupload was also not verifying that the clusterid directory was there, and wasn't creating it if it had to. Brad already fixed that.
