Size Issue

Previous Entry Size Issue Jan. 11th, 2005 @ 02:46 pm Next Entry
I just joined the community and have been playing around with the Fotobilder for a bit. I must say that I am a bit confused about the image-sizing feature. I uploaded an image that is 446x615, and chose the "Large" size when posting to my journal, but it's still showing a smaller version (347x480) of the image instead of the true size. When I click on the image it opens my gallery page, and only when I click on the gallery image does it go to the true size. I don't like auto-compression and would like to post the original size of the image. Does anybody else have a problem with this, or can offer some advice on how to fix it?

I just noticed this too. It's particularly bad for images of text since it makes it awfully jaggy and otherwise difficult to read.

It seems the resizing is a strict 640 width and 480 height, when it would probably be better if it were a "smart" check based on which dimension is longer.

In the meantime, taking the "/s640x480" off the image URL will make it go to the full image directly. The image page in your gallery should link to the full version as well.

I did link it directly to the full image, I guess I just wanted to use the "post to journal" feature of fotobilder because it's more direct. Thanks for your help :)!

Well, I personally use the post to journal feature because I'm lazy, and then just remove the last bit of the URL it links to, to make it go to the full image. It would be nice to have the choice and not have to edit the URL, but it's better than nothing I suppose. :)
