Issue with "View Pic"

About

Previous Entry Issue with "View Pic" Aug. 29th, 2004 @ 02:37 pm Next Entry
I have noticed an issue with S2 and the Edit Pic pages link to View an image, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with my style that I have to find, or if others are having the same problem so it needs to be fixed on the back end...

When I try to view a picture from the Manage Pic page [link here] I get the following error:
Error running style: Died in S2::run_code running PicturePage::print(): Can't use string ("") as a subroutine ref while "strict refs" in use at (eval 269) line 650.

When I view a picture through the Gallery [link here] it takes me directly to the image, so it seems that when the forward slash is appended to the URL, it tries to display as a page, whereas without it displays as the image just fine... so it seems to me that the forward slash is causing the problem (when I hover over the link, the slash appears in my browser bar).

I know I probably just babbled on here for something that should have taken like 5 seconds to explain, but I really can't tell if it's my browser (I'm using Firefox) or if it's coded in there, or if my style isn't displaying that page correctly...

Ciao,

Since you're using a custom style, can you show us the relevant portion of your code where the error appears? I can't reproduce the error using a system style.

Now that I'm taking another look at everything, it seems that I'm missing some kind of declaration that tells the system that if the page isn't from a gallery to print a different sidebar, but I must have missed what that is.

Since it isn't liking my code in here, I'm just going to link to my source: http://pics.livejournal.com/manage/styles/advanced/layerbrowse?id=591 and it's the PicturePage::lay_print_sidebar function (or you can do a text search for Troublespot, as I commented on it.

*Goes to look at system styles to see if she can find something*

I haven't been able to figure it out. I know there's some declaration that I'm missing, but it's not popping out for me.
