I think it would be great if we could control the order that galleries and subgalleries appear, just as we are able to control the order that pictures appear within each gallery. I know I, at least, do not create galleries in an order that necessarily makes sense, and I'd love to be able to change that. I'm not sure what it would take to implement this, so I'm not much help in that regard, but I'd love to be able to do this.
I third that!I suggested something like that
a little while back and nobody made any kind of comment about it. I was wondering if my idea went totally unheard.
Sorry about that. I have been in show mode (I was stage managing a musical) for the past two weeks, and I didn't even really read your post, because I've already created my style, and so I don't read much about the S2 stuff. Reading your post now, it doesn't sound like what I'm saying. What I'm getting from you is that you would want to be able to set whether default is alpha, date created, or date updated. Otherwise, preset modes. I'd like default to be what I set it as, so that on the "Manage Galleries" page you can set galleries 1-5 and if one has 2 subgalleries, they can be xa and xb (x equalling the # that I specify for the parent gallery). Then the other three sorting orders would ignore those numbers.
Maybe that is what you had in mind, but that's not how it read to me.
The database stores a "sortorder" column, I'd settle for being able to manipulate that.
I agree that my idea was a little different to yours, although the idea is basically the same: allowing the gallery owner to sort the galleries. I was suggesting sorting using the same method as the viewer can, but by default. What you suggest is better because the owner can sort them any way he/she wants just as pictures are sortable now. I'd settle for that kind of sorting technique too :)
Funny, I mentioned that to whitaker
earlier today... :)

I actually made a post to this very community asking for it about a month ago.
Ah. I wasn't part of the test at that time, and I didn't get a chance to go back through old posts. I think you and I are on the same page with that one.
