Beta Test Status

Previous Entry Beta Test Status Aug. 13th, 2004 @ 07:50 pm Next Entry
During the past few weeks we've been working on a bunch of issues:
  • picture and gallery security has been overhauled to make it easier to use, understand, and integrate with LiveJournal.
  • we've fixed the timeout problem a lot of users have been receiving while trying to upload pictures
  • the "post to LiveJournal" feature is undergoing a major facelift
  • one of our developers is working on a new client that will eventually run on different operating systems
(We'll post a list of known bugs / current projects over the next couple of days)

We're coming in to the development home stretch while our boss is on vacation. There aren't a lot of new major/blocking features we have left to implement, just a lot to document and clean up.

During the next few weeks we'll be updating the photo hosting site with various fixes and enhancements to prepare for our service launch date, so be prepared for possible sudden changes to the interface. And, as always, please keep us up to date with your feedback, opinions, and suggestions.

(Is it appropriate to ask questions in comments? If not, ignore and I'll have my answer.)

Is there an FAQ coming in the forseeable future, as a reference for those of us who forget little details like, say, whether or not there are any limits on how many pictures we can have at one time? Especially for those of us who are going into it with pathetically little HTML savvy, it would be great to have some recourse for stupids.

Thanks as always for everything you do; the whole system is delightful.

FAQs have already been written up in lj_userdoc, for use when the service goes live (The discussions are here, if you're interested.)

We'll have a full user manual ready at the time of release, which the interface and accompanying FAQs will link to.
