Broken login in Opera?

Previous Entry Broken login in Opera? Jul. 23rd, 2004 @ 11:57 am Next Entry

Login appears to be broken in Opera. IE will accept my LJ cookies without having to log in, but in Opera, I go to the main page with valid LJ cookies, and I'm not logged in. When I attempt to log in, I get this error message:

[Error: Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at /home/lj/fb/lib/fotobilder.pl line 3338. ]

opera was a browser meant for people with really crappy computers with lacking specs that still need internet that serves minimal functions. Most things are broken in opera, unfortunately... Don't know what else to say.

Obviously, you haven't tried Opera lately, and haven't a clue what you're talking about. Kthxbye.

Well I have tried opera lately and more than half of things have been broken on it. Clearly, I do know what I'm talking about in that A-things are broken in opera and B-opera was original developed to be used when computers weren't as good as they are but needed internet nonetheless, regardless of what that has to do with this or does no.
Not knowing why this is, that they are broken, I said I didn't know what else to say... atleast I didn't try to wax intellectual about it and get an attitude like you have chosen to do. Please refrain.

The only things that are broken in Opera are broken sites. If your sites don't work, then perhaps you need to fix them.

Regardless of why it was originally developed, Opera is now a full-featured, highly customizable, and extremely efficient browser. It adheres to all of the strictest W3C standards, and does a damned fine job with everything I've ever thrown at it. It is my browser of choice, on any computer, for these reasons.

The purpose of this post was to point out a problem with the Fotobilder software. A good, well-designed site or application should run well in any browser, and if it doesn't, there's something wrong with the site or application that needs to be corrected. Blaming the browser is neither very intelligent nor very helpful.
